A single-center Clinical Study of New Onset Atrial Fibrillation after Transcatheter Closure of Patent Foramen Ovale
Objective To investigate the incidence of new onset atrial fibrillation(AF)1 month after transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale(PFO)and analyze the potential risk factors of AF.Methods From January 2022 to November 2022,152 patients underwent PFO were enrolled. The incidence of AF was monitored by dynamic electrocardiogram 1 month after the procedure, the clinical characteristics of patients with(AF group)and with-out(non-AF group)new onset AF were compared. Results AF occurred in 8 patients(5.3%)after PFO closure. There were significant differences in age, male proportion,PFO diameter,PFO length and occluder size between AF group and non-AF Group(P<0.05).Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that age, male proportion and occluder size were independent risk factors for AF after PFO(P<0.05).Conclusion There was a risk of new AF after PFO closure.Older age, male and larger size of occluder were independent risk factors for AF after PFO closure.
