Application of CQI Management Guided by Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators in Reducing PICC Complications
Objective To investigate the effect of CQI management guided by nursing sensitive quality index in re-ducing PICC complications.Methods A total of 110 patients with PICC catheters in the Oncology Department of the Fourth People's Hospital of Taizhou,Jiangsu Province from March 2022 to November 2022 were select-ed as the control group by convenient sampling method.A total of 110 tumor patients with PICC catheter admit-ted to the Oncology Department of the hospital from December 2022 to July 2023 were selected as the observa-tion group,and the control group was given routine care.The observation group was given CQI mode on the basis of routine care.The actual incidence of PICC complications,the mastery of theories related to PICC cathe-ter and the implementation of practical operation skills of nurses in the two groups were compared.Results Among the common complications after PICC,the incidence of PICC tube blockage and phlebitis in observa-tion group was lower than that in control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After CQI,the nurses'mastery of PICC catheter-related theories and implementation of practical skills were better than those before CQI,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion CQI management guid-ed by nursing sensitive quality index can effectively reduce the incidence of PICC complications,improve nurs-ing theoretical and practical skills,and can be popularized in clinical practice.
