Effects of Heat Treatment Temperature and Duration on IN718 Superalloy
Effects of heat treatment temperature and duration on microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of IN718 superalloy were investigated. The results indicate that grain size of the alloy is grade 7~8 with uni-form microstructure and absence of defects after heat treatment at 810 ℃ for 30 min,and desirable comprehensive mechanical properties can be obtained, where the hardness value reaches 250.48 HV,tensile strength is greatly increased by 8.48%,and the corrosion point area reaches the minimum of 1 132.66 μm2.The minimum weight of the alloy after corrosion is 0.001 0 g after heat treatment at 900 ℃ for 30 min, followed by that of ones at 810 ℃ for 30 min, which is about 0.001 3 g.
