Dendrite Motion Behavior Based on VOF-CA-LB Coupling Model
The fluid volume function method was coupled with cellular automata model to investigate the motion behavior of grain during solidification process.The simulation results indicate that the fluid volume function method exhibits desirable interface fidelity,and can track the solid-liquid interface with a small error,which has little effects on the subsequent calculation of dendritic growth.The motion behavior of dendrites can affect the solute distribution in the melt,thus affecting the growth morphology of dendrites.The coupled model can simulate the dendrite motion process with a small error,solving the difficulty in satisfying the high shape fidelity and high computational efficiency of cellular automata method.
