Effects of Rare Earth Er on Microstructure and Properties of AlSi10Mg Alloy
The influence of rare earth Er on microstructure and properties of AlSi10Mg alloy was investigated using metallographic microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electron probe,hardness testing,and conductivity testing,and the influence law and mechanism were analyzed.The results indicate that the addition of rare earth Er can promote the refinement of α-Al grain and modification of eutectic Si in the alloy.With the increase of Er content,the microhard-ness is slightly improved.When Er content is less than 0.6%,the thermal conductivity is increased with the Er content.With 0.6%Er addition,the thermal conductivity reaches the peak value of 151.89 W/(m·K).With the further increase of Er,the thermal conductivity is decreased slightly.The addition of rare earth Er can improve the thermal conductivity of alloy by reducing solid solubility of solute elements in the matrix and modifying eutectic Si.
