Research progress of Treg cell-based immunotherapy in autoimmune hepatitis
Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)is a chronic inflammatory disease that is dependent on hormonal and/or im-munosuppressive therapy for a long period of time and prone to relapse after discontinuation. Therefore,it is necessary to develop more effective treatments for its pathogenesis.Current studies indicate that the pathogenesis of AIH is mainly due to abnormal autoimmune tolerance, which is mainly attributed to the decline in the number and function of Treg cells. In recent years, researchers have conducted many in-depth studies on the role of Treg cells in AIH pathogenesis and possible therapeutic targets. These studies include adoptive transfer Treg cells, development of antigen-specific Treg cells, effects of immune microenvironment on Treg cells,Foxp3 demethylation expression, and drug targets of CD39-CD73-adenosine pathway targeting Treg cells. This review aimed to provide scientific basis for the development of more effective treatments for AIH.
