Expression of circCSPP1 in gastric cancer and its prognostic value for gastric cancer patients
Objective To analyze the expression of circCSPP1 in gastric cancer and adjacent non-cancerous tissues,and to explore its relationship with clinicopathologic features and prognosis of gastric cancer patients.Methods A total of 118 patients with gastric cancer who underwent radical resection in our hospital from Jan.2018 to Jan.2020 were col-lected.CircCSPP1 expression levels in cancer tissues and adjacent non-cancerous tissues were detected to evaluate the correlation between circCSPP1 expression levels and clinicopathological data of gastric cancer patients.Kaplan-Meier curves were used to analyze the relationship between circCSPP1 expression levels and patient survival.Cox regression analysis was performed to evaluate the factors affecting the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.Results The rela-tive expression levels of circCSPP1 in TNM stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ and Ⅲ-Ⅳ gastric cancer,adjacent non-cancerous tissues were 2.08±0.17,3.29±0.27,1.01±0.12,respectively.The expression of circCSPP1 increased significantly in gastric canc-er tissues(F=4.292,P=0.005).CircCSPP1 expression levels in gastric cancer tissues were associated with tumor di-ameter,the depth of invasion,TNM stage,lymph node metastasis and other organ metastasis(P<0.05).The survival rate of patients in the circCSPP1 low expression group was significantly higher than that of patients in the circCSPP1 high expression group(x2=5.332,P<0.05).Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that tumor diameter ≥5 cm,depth of invasion T3-T4,lymph node metastasis,metastasis of other organs and high circCSPP1 expression in gastric cancer tissues were adverse prognostic factors for gastric cancer(P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that depth of invasion T3-T4,lymph node metastasis and high circCSPP1 expression were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of gastric cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of circCSPP1 is significantly up-regulated in gastric cancer,and the high expression of circCSPP1 is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis of gastric cancer.
