Research progress on the relationship between dietary inflammatory index and gas-trointestinal inflammatory disease
Gastritis, gastric ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome are common chronic gas-trointestinal inflammatory diseases.Diet is a major determinant of inflammation and a key modifiable factor in reducing the risk of gastrointestinal diseases.A new tool to assess the potential of overall dietary inflammation, the dietary inflam-matory index(DII),was proposed due to complex interactions between different foods and nutrients.DII can quantita-tively evaluate the overall dietary inflammatory effect of the subject, and compare it between different individuals. This article reviewed the relationship between DII and chronic inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract,so as to pro-vide new ideas for dietary intervention and prevention of chronic gastrointestinal inflammatory disease.
