Objective To systematically review the prevalence of zinc and selenium deficiency in patients with inflamma-tory bowel disease(IBD).Methods The CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP,PubMed,EmBase and The Cochrane Library data-bases were electronically searched to collect studies on the prevalence of zinc and selenium deficiency in patients with IBD from inception to Nov.9th,2022.Two reviewers independently screened the literature by reading the full text, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies.Meta-analysis was then performed using Stata 15.1 software. Results A total of 14 studies involving 2 915 IBD patients were included. The Meta-analysis results showed that the prevalence of zinc deficiency was 29%(95%CI:21%-37%),and the prevalence of selenium deficiency was 10%(95%CI:7%-14%)in IBD patients.Subgroup analysis according to disease types showed that the prevalence of zinc deficiency was 23%(95%CI:13%-34%),and the prevalence of selenium deficiency was 7%(95%CI:4%-10%)in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC).The prevalence of zinc deficiency was 34%(95%CI:23%-45%).and the prev-alence of selenium deficiency in patients with CD was 14%(95%CI:10%-18%)in patients with Crohn's disease(CD).Conclusion The total prevalence of zinc and selenium deficiency in IBD patients is high, and the prevalence of zinc and selenium deficiency in CD patients is higher than that in UC patients.
