Advances in the application of magnetic resonance imaging-proton density fat frac-tion in diagnosing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has become the main cause of chronic liver disease in China and even the world, including non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFL),non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and cirrhosis, and eventu-ally developing into hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Early diagnosis of NAFLD has important clinical significance in pre-venting the progression of liver-related diseases and complications.Hepatic steatosis, which is a basic histological feature of NAFLD,is particularly important to accurately assess and quantify liver fat.MRI-derived proton density fat fraction,as a noninvasive imaging method for quantitative diagnosis of liver fat,can help clinicians diagnose and treat the disease in time. This article reviewed the research progress of proton density fat fraction in the diagnosis of NAFLD.
