Risk factors and preventive measures of delayed bleeding after colorectal polypectomy
Post-polypectomy bleeding(PPB)is a prevalent complication following therapeutic colonoscopy.Accord-ing to the timing of postoperative bleeding,PPB can be classified into immediate bleeding and delayed bleeding. The former was usually managed promptly by endoscopists during the procedure.Once patients experienced severe delayed bleeding, they often required readmission for intervention, thereby increasing hospitalization costs and psychological bur-den on the patients. This article focused on identifying risk factors for delayed bleeding in patients to promptly recognize those at high risk.At the same time, the management of antithrombotic drugs during the perioperative period, taking ef-fective preventive measures during the operation, and assessing the risk of bleeding in advance can prevent the occur-rence of delayed bleeding.
