Research progress on the role of Th17 and Treg cells in the pathogenesis of autoim-mune hepatitis
Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)as an immune-mediated chronic liver disease, influenced by factors such as alcohol, drugs, toxins and other triggers, yet its precise pathogenesis remains incompletely understood.Treatment pri-marily focuse on relieving symptoms and delaying disease progression.Due to their immune characteristics,T cells have garnered attention as pivotal cells of the immune response.Recent research, scholars at home and abroad have found that Th17 cells and Treg cells play key roles in the occurrence and development of AIH through in-depth research on the immune mechanism of AIH.Starting from the autoimmune response, this article elucidated that Th17 and Treg cells not only exert individual effects, but also intricately interact in terms of quantity and functionality.Furthermore, cytokines such as IL-17,IL-6,RORγt,FoxP3 and others can impact the development of AIH by affecting the levels of Th17 cells and/or Treg cells.
