Retrospective analysis of the gastroscopic typing and clinical features of chronic atrophic gastritis in the upland areas
Objective To investigate the pathogenetic features, mucosal changes, and gastroscopic staging of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)in upland areas. Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 464 patients with CAG admitted to the People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region from Jan.2020 to Mar.2023.Results The age distribution of CAG in the upland areas was mainly>50-60 years old,and there was no significant difference in the dis-tribution of gender among the age groups(P>0.05);clinical symptoms were mainly weakness(49.57%),abdominal distension(44.61%)and abdominal pain(40.30%);gastroscopic typing was more common in type C2(70.26%);gastroscopic images were mainly white with red and white gastric mucosa, and CAG at different altitudes.Gastroscopic images of patients with CAG at different altitudes were statistically significant(P<0.05);pathological features were moderate atrophy and mild to moderate intestinalization. Conclusion Gastroscopic staging is predominantly type C2 in the highlands. The rise in altitude has an impact on the pathological process of CAG patients, and attention should be paid to the pathogenetic characteristics of CAG to reduce the risk of the disease.
