A comparative study of bowel preparation with written guidance combined tele-phone education and single written guidance
Objective To explore the effect of different guidance methods on the quality of patients'bowel prepara-tion in the process of bowel preparation,and to provide reference for clinical scientific and standardized bowel prepara-tion.Methods This study was a prospective,single blind,randomized,controlled,single center clinical study.All patients received written guidance on bowel preparation at the colonoscopy appointment.Patients in the written guidance combined with telephone education group received intensive education by telephone 48 hours before colonoscopy.The bowel preparation status was judged according to the BBPS.Results A total of 681 patients undergoing colonoscopy were finally included in this study.The BBPS score of the written guidance combined with telephone education group with statistical difference(P=0.004).The scores of right colon,transverse colon,left colon was statistical difference(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that,age ≥60 years old,diabetes mellitus,constipation,unqualified dietary restriction,not taking the prescribed dose of laxatives,the unaided exercise were independent risk factors for unqualified bowel preparation,and written guidance combined with telephone education was a protective factor.Conclusion Com-pared with single written guidance,written guidance combined with telephone education can improve the quality of intes-tinal preparation.
