Diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in diabetic patients
Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency(PEI)in diabetic patients negatively affects their quality of life.Cur-rently,the diagnostic and treatment guidelines for PEI in diabetic patients are not well-established.This article aimed to comprehensively review the current status of PEI diagnosis and treatment in diabetic patients from various dimensions,including the etiology and pathogenesis,clinical manifestations,detection and diagnosis,treatment strategies of PEI in diabetic patients.The goal is to deeply explore the effects of pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy in improving gastro-intestinal symptoms related to PEI in diabetic patients.
