Research progress of methods to improve the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells transplantation in the treatment of liver cirrhosis
Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of liver cirrhosis.To further enhance the therapeutic efficacy of MSC-based interventions in liver cirrhosis,this review sum-marized recent advancements in the field.A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the PubMed and CNKI databases using keywords such as liver cirrhosis,liver fibrosis,mesenchymal stem cells,homing and exosomes identifying 36 relevant studies published between 2010 and 2024 for analysis.Findings indicate that optimizing MSC cul-ture conditions is crucial for maintaining cell viability and promoting extensive proliferation and differentiation.Moreo-ver,enhancing MSC homing efficiency can increase hepatic engraftment,thereby improving therapeutic outcomes in liver cirrhosis.Modulating or inducing the production of MSC-derived exosomes,as well as enhancing the bioactivity of cyto-kines within the MSC secrete,holds potential for effectively mitigating the pathological progression of liver cirrhosis.These strategies offer novel insights and avenues for advancing the application of MSCs in the treatment of liver cirrhosis.
