Abstract
About the occupant of the Hansen Tumulus in the eastern suburb of Xi'an, there have been many suggestions:the mausoleum built by King Xiaowen of the Qin State for his own death;the mausoleum of King Zhuangxiang of the Qin State;the tomb of Shi Imperial Grandson (the grandson of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty born by a concubine nee Shi of Prince Li) or the Gong Mausoleum of Liu Kang, the father of Emperor Ai of the Western Han Dynasty, etc. The most recently published survey and detection data showed that it would be a mausoleum of the Qin State. Seen from the scale, it would be ranked lower than the king and queen;the orientation of the passage and mausoleum gate showed its relative position in the evolution sequence of the mausoleums of the Qin State in the Warring-States Period;referring to the dates of the known Qin mausoleums and the historic literature, this tumulus is inferred as the mausoleum of Prince Dao, the heir apparent of King Zhaoxiang of the Qin State.
