During the Western Han Dynasty,Baitu and Pingdu counties were administered under the Shangjun Prefecture.Their approximate locations are believed to be within the present-day Yulin City,Shaanxi.Various scholarly opinions regarding their exact locations have been proposed.Building upon previous research,this paper presents a new understanding of the geographical locations of these two counties based on literature review and field investigations.It posits that the ancient city of Baitu County corresponds to the ancient city site of Guchengjie in the Yuyang District of Yulin City,while the ancient city site Jiaochangping in present-day Zizhou County might be Pingdu County.
