From 2019 to 2020,the Xi'an Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics Conservation and Archaeology,in collaboration with the School of Archaeology and Museology of Sichuan University,excavated a group of Han dynasty tombs in Xishiyang Village,Qinhan New City,Xi-Xian New District,Shaanxi Province.Among them,six tombs featured hollow bricks,dating from the mid-Western Han to the Xin Dynasty period.Based on their structures,these tombs included vertical pit earthen shaft tombs,vertical shaft chamber tombs,and sloping passage chamber tombs.They provide a comprehensive representation of the structural characteristics of hollow brick tombs in the Xianyang area.This discovery holds great significance for exploring the development and evolution of hollow-brick tombs in the Guanzhong region.
