The Yemili Ancient City Site is located in Emin County,Tacheng Prefecture,Xinjiang.A trial excavation on an earthen platform in the northern part of the site yielded significant findings, including architectural remains such as house foundations,kang-style heated structures, kilns, and ash pits.Artifacts unearthed include pottery, ironware, bronze items, stone tools, wooden objects, and bone implements.Based on unbaked pottery fragments found in the ash pits,it is inferred preliminarily that the earthen platform served as a pottery workshop area. This excavation is of great significance for understanding the site more deeply, studying its chronological phases, and providing new data on the social life of people in Xinjiang during the Song and Yuan periods.
