This paper examines the naming of artifacts such as the handled he(ti liang he),jiao, and jiao dou.It argues that the handled he belongs to the category of he and represents the final stage of evolution in bronze he forms. The jiao design originates from the handled he,while the jiao dou is a specialized form that developed during the evolution of jiao-type containers.By analyzing factors such as historical texts, inscriptions, and excavation contexts, the paper further explores the functional changes of these three types of objects. It concludes that the handled he marks a stage where the water vessel function of bronze he weakened, the jiao served as a wine vessel, and the jiao dou had additional uses for cooking and food preparation.
