New Ways of Meaning:Challenges to Linguistics in the 21st Century:A Review of the 2022 Annual Conference of the International Association for Hallidayan Linguistics
The 2022 Annual Conference of the International Association for Hallidayan Lin-guistics was held online on October 22nd & 23rd,2022.The theme of the conference was"New Ways of Meaning:Challenges to Linguistics in the 21st Century".18 influential scholars at home and abroad were invited to deliver keynote speeches,and nearly 1,100 participants who are inter-ested in Hallidayan Linguistics joined the conference.The keynote speeches included not only dis-cussions based on the theories and frameworks of Systemic Functional Linguistics,but also more de-tailed research models based on the original theories and frameworks,and comparative arguments with other academic theories,reflecting the development characteristics of Systemic Functional Lin-guistics with equal emphasis on theory and practice and diversified research methods.
