Effect of different doses of Recombinant Human Growth Hormone on 25-hydroxyvitamin D and insulin-like growth factor 1 levels in children with idiopathic short stature
Objective To analyze the effect of different doses of Recombinant Human Growth Hormone(rhGH)on 25-hydroxyvitamin D and insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)levels in children with idiopathic short stature(ISS).Methods A total of 72 children with ISS in Children's Health Center,Children's Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University from December 2019 to July 2021 were enrolled. All the children received rhGH treatment based on conventional nutritional support.According to the different doses of rhGH,they were divided into two groups, the dose of control group(34 cases)was 0.15 IU/(kg·d),and the dose of observation group(38 cases)was 0.20 IU/(kg·d).The changes of height,height-standard deviation score(HtSDS),body mass index(BMI),and 25-hydroxyvitamin D and IGF-1 levels were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in height,HtSDS,BMI,and levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D and IGF-1 between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the HtSDS and IGF-1 level in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion High-dose rhGH can effectively improve the height and IGF-1 level in ISS children, which is worthy of clinical application.
