Objective To analyze the clinical value of hysteroscopy in asymptomatic endometrial thickening after menopause. Methods A total of 123 postmenopausal women with asymptomatic endometrial thickening indicated by transvaginal ultrasound treated in Jiangbin Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from May 2018 to November 2023 were selected as the study objects, and pathological examination was used as the gold standard to compare the diagnostic efficacy between transvaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy in benign and malignant lesions of asymptomatic endometrial thickening after menopause. Results Pathological examination results showed that 115 cases of benign endometrial lesions were found in 123 postmenopausal patients with asymptomatic endometrial thickening, including 75 cases of endometrial polyps,11 cases of endometrial hyperplasia,13 cases of uterine submucous myoma, and 16 cases of atrophic endometrial. There were 8 cases of malignant lesions, including 3 cases of endometrial dysplasia, and 5 cases of endometrial cancer. There were 112 benign endometrial lesions and 11 malignant endometrial lesions examined by hysteroscopy. There were 105 benign endometrial lesions and 18 malignant lesions by transvaginal ultrasonography. The specificity and accuracy of hysteroscopy in the diagnosis of benign and malignant endometrial lesions were higher than those of transvaginal ultrasound(P<0.05).Conclusion Hysteroscopy can reflect the endometrial lesions better in postmenopausal patients with asymptomatic endometrial thickening, and has high clinical value.
