Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of transabdominal ultrasonography(TAS)combined with superficial ultrasound in children with acute appendicitis(AA).Methods A total of 80 children with suspected AA admitted to Lanzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Orthopedics and Traumatology from May 2021 to January 2024 were selected for this study. All children underwent TAS and superficial ultrasound examination, and the pathological results were used as the basis for diagnosis. The diagnostic value of TAS and superficial ultrasound alone and in combination was analyzed. Results Pathological examination results showed that 71 cases of AA(88.75%).The consistency between TAS combined with superficial ultrasound and pathological results was good(Kappa=0.875).The results of TAS and superficial ultrasound alone were generally consistent with pathological results(Kappa=0.515,0.418).The sensitivity and accuracy of TAS combined with superficial ultrasound were higher than those of TAS or superficial ultrasound alone(P<0.05).Conclusion TAS combined with superficial ultrasound in the diagnosis of AA in children can improve the sensitivity and accuracy, and has good consistency with pathological results.
