Preparation and Performance of Nanocomposite Polyacrylate Latex Copolymer Emulsions
This study modified polyacrylate latex copolymer(NA)by incorporating nano titanium diox-ide,resulting in a series of nanocomposite TiO2/NA latex copolymer emulsions(TNA).The rheological properties of the solutions and the spinning performance of the pastes were investigated. The results show that within the range where the amount of nano TiO2 accounts for ≤2.5%of the solid content of the NA paste, both the NA paste and TNA paste solutions exhibit pseudoplastic behavior.Furthermore, with an increase in the amount of nano TiO2,the particle diameter of the latex and the apparent viscosity of the TNA paste solution decrease. When a TNA paste solution, prepared with 2%nano TiO2 of the solid con-tent of the NA paste, was used for sizing 13 tex polyester-cotton(TC:65/35)blended yarn, the sizing rate decreased significantly, yet the various sizing properties of the TNA paste remained superior to those of the actual factory sizing formulation. These results indicate that the prepared TNA paste exhibits simple sizing adjustment, low sizing rate, excellent spinning properties, and easy treatment of desizing wastewater.
