人工智能对制造业出口技术复杂度的影响
On the Effect of AI on the Technical Complexity of Manufacturing Exports

摘要
人工智能为全球生产制造业提供了重要机遇.基于IFR提供的跨国行业数据,考察人工智能对制造业出口技术复杂度的影响路径及作用机制.研究发现:首先,人工智能对于提高制造业出口技术复杂度有着显著作用,且在考虑到内生性、稳健性问题后该结论依然成立.其次,人工智能对劳动密集型和技术密集型行业的提升效果更明显,且相较于技术接受程度较低的国家,对技术接受度更高的国家的促进作用更显著.最后,人工智能对制造业出口技术复杂度水平的提升作用主要通过替代部分劳动力、提升行业生产率及提高产品质量等机制实现.研究结论有助于充分认识人工智能在制造业中的应用,为我国制造业出口技术复杂度升级提供有益启示.
Abstract
AI provides important opportunities for the global manufacturing industry.Based on the transnational industry data provided by International Federation Robotics(IFR),this paper examines the pathways and mechanisms through which AI impacts the technical complexity of manufacturing exports.The research results show that:(1)AI plays a significant role in improving the technical complexity of manufacturing exports,which is still valid after considering endogenous and robust issues;(2)AI has a more noticeable upgrading impact on labor-intensive and technology-intensive industries,and its effect is more pronounced in countries with higher levels of technology acceptance compared to those with lower ones;(3)AI contributes to the elevation of the technical complexity of manufacturing exports,mainly through mechanisms such as partial substitution of labor,improved industry productivity,and enhanced product quality.The research findings are helpful to fully understand the application of AI in the manufacturing industry,and provide useful insight for the upgrading of the technical complexity of China's manufacturing exports.
