On the Influence of Labor Cost on the Development of the Logistics Industry
This study selected panel data of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations from 2004 to 2020,and used the entropy method to measure the logistics development in each city and describe its evolution law.It also explored the impact of labor cost on logistics development by using ordinary panel model, panel vector autoregressive model, and threshold model. The findings indicate that:(1)the overall level of logistics development in each city has improved, with obvious club convergence phenomenon and inertial development trend;(2)as the driving factor of logistics development, labor cost shows phasic positive impact, and when labor cost and industrial structure surpass the threshold value, their promoting effect exhibits a nonlinear feature of initial weakness followed by strength.
