How Empowering Leadership Inspires Employees'Positive Followership Behavior——The Role of Insider Identity Cognition and Traditionality
With the deepening research on leadership, the importance of followership has gradually been recognized, and it has become a consensus that there is no leadership without followership.Cultivating employees'positive followership behaviors in management practice is of great significance for the development of enterprises and the implementation of leadership decisions.Based on social exchange theory, this study constructs a moderated mediation model to explore the mechanism through which empowering leadership influences employees'positive followership behaviors. It also examines the mediating effect of insider identity cognition and the moderating effect of traditionality.Using SPSS26.0,the study analyzes 208 valid questionnaires. The empirical results show that(1)empowering leadership can promote employees'positive followership behaviors;(2)insider identity cognition mediates the relationship between empowering leadership and employees'positive followership behaviors;(3)employees'traditionality moderates not only the relationship between insider identity cognition and employees'positive followership behaviors, but also the indirect effect of empowering leadership on employees'positive followership behaviors through insider identity cognition.
