Empirical Implications of Scientific Knowledge Production on"Physical Activity and Chronic Disease"in Foreign Countries from Perspective of SKAD Theory
Based on the perspective of SKAD theory, this paper analyzes the discourse mode, social networks, and support of government policies in the scientific knowledge production on"physical activity and chronic disease"in the past 70 years. It is suggested that although medicine dominates the research on"physical activity and chronic disease",the understanding and expansion of the concept of"physical activity"still requires the participation of inter-disciplines.In particular,it needs the interpretation of the concept of"physical activity"and its related subordinate concepts from the field of sports. The mutual cooperation among different disciplines, the financial support and guidance from the medical administration,as well as the tolerance and openness of the journals in the fields of medicine and sports have formed the social network of the production of scientific knowledge on"physical activity and chronic disease".The environmental orientation of public policy making has accelerated the transformation of the academic attributes of scientific knowledge production on"physical activity and chronic diseases"to the practical application attributes. The government has mobilized material and human resources in the production of scientific advisory reports on physical activity and the formulation of policy guidelines, providing a set of support mechanisms for the production of scientific knowledge on"physical activity and chronic disease".
