Working Ship Workability Prediction and Comparison Based on Two Wave Data
The reliability of the workability prediction with the global wave forecast data was studied by comparing it with the prediction with the global wave reanalysis data. The main wave parameters of the two wave data sets and the mono-pile foundation construction workability of a crane vessel were investigated towards China's planned offshore wind farm.17 represented data points were selected, and the combined-time-frequency domain method was applied for the vessel workability computation. The results revealed that the error on the mean value and standard deviation of the significant wave height and the wave period are small, which are within 10%.The workability error is within15%for all wave data points, and is within5%in most wave data points. So the workability prediction based on global wave forecast data is reliable, and it is more suitable to be the data source for the offshore wind construction difficulty evaluation.
