Structural Strength Analysis of Pile-driven Platform for Large Diameter Monopile
Due to the lower correcting force of onboard pile holder of self-elevating offshore wind power installation vessel/platform,and the limited operating depth of traditional driven platform, both of them cannot meet the pile sinking requirements for large diameter monopile.A new type platform which can be suitable for large monopile sinking operation was designed in view of the above problems. The global structural strength of the platform was assessed using SESAM software, both supported condi-tion and unsupported condition of the bottom were considered.Hand calculation and finite element analysis were used respectively to assess the strength of the main pad-eye in light of DNV rules. The results showed that the global structural strength and the lo-cal strength of main pad-eye can meet the rules requirement, and the stress value of pad-eye by finite element analysis are greater than hand calculation.
