Local Buckling Analysis for Unburied Subsea Pipeline Crossing Oblique Slip Fault
Making use of ABAQUS software,a numerical model of subsea pipelines crossing seismic fault was established, considering the effects of pipe nonlinear material, geometric large deformation, and pipe soil interaction. The deformation and buckling responses of submarine pipeline crossing oblique slip fault were simulated. The local buckling failure mode of pipeline under these variable design parameters such as steel pipe wall thickness, laying residual tension and crossing angle between pipe-line and seismic fault were analyzed. The horizontal displacement, axial tensile strain and local buckling were investigated. The research results can provide a certain engineering reference for the preliminary design, safety evaluation, maintenance and protec-tion of unburied subsea pipelines under fault displacement.
