Analysis of Ship Type of an Offshore Work-over Jack-up Rig
This study conducts a systematic comparative analysis of the design of workover jack-up rig for oil and gas devel-opment in the Bohai Sea.Focusing on the number of legs, considering the combined effects of wave and current loads, wind loads, and platform gravity, the finite element method was used to establish a simulation model of the workover jack-up rig.The evaluation indices such as wave-current load, pile leg displacement and anti-tilting moment of the platform under different azimuth angles were calculated. The design features of two different ship types with three and four pile legs were compared and analyzed,to reveal their respective characteristics in platform scheme, preloading capacity and stability. The research results indicated that the four-pile-leg platform has significant advantages in equipment arrangement, preloading capacity, and anti-tilt stability.Nota-bly,in the case of single-pile-leg failure, the four-pile-leg platform exhibits higher stability and safety. It can provide important guidance for the design optimization of workover jack-up rig, offering a theoretical basis for further improving platform safety and efficiency.
