The Impact of the Digital Economy on Driving Rural Revitalization:A Case Study of Hubei Province
In the information age,the digital economy has emerged as a new driving force for rural development.Using panel data from cities and prefectures in Hubei Province from 2013 to 2022,this paper first measures the levels of the digital economy and rural revitalization.The results show a clear upward trend in both,indicating progress in the digital economy and significant achievements in rural revitalization.Empirical analysis reveals that the digital economy significantly promotes rural revitalization,primarily by fostering high-tech industries,which bring positive impacts to rural areas in terms of economic development,social progress,and improved livelihoods.This accelerates the integration of rural areas into the modern economy and achieves sustainable,comprehensive prosperity.In conclusion,the digital economy is closely linked to rural revitalization,with a positive reciprocal relationship that is crucial for the development and advancement of rural areas.
