This paper provides an overview of the local puppet art,analyzes the development trend of animation character design,and puts forward the specific application strategies of local puppet art in animation character design,includ-ing integrating cultural symbols,drawing lessons from story plots,transforming modeling style,respecting tradition and innovating integration.This research not only deepens peo-ple's understanding of local puppet art,but also provides new ideas and methods for the innovative practice of anima-tion character design.
