This paper discusses the inheritance and inno-vation of traditional decoration and pattern in toy design.Firstly,an overview of the traditional decoration and pattern is provided,and the definition,classification and cultural value of traditional decoration and pattern are emphatically introduced.Then,an overview of the inno-vative design concept based on traditional decoration and pattern and the value of applying traditional decoration and pattern in toy design are explained.Finally,the inher-itance and innovation strategies of traditional decoration and pattern in toy design are proposed from the aspects of innovative design concept and value construction,trans-formation of traditional elements into contemporary art,integration of traditional elements into modern science and technology,and meeting the needs of market innova-tion and development.It aims to explore new ideas and strategies that can cope with the demand of modern mar-ket and the pressure of innovation through the research on the inheritance and innovation of traditional decora-tion and pattern in toy design.
