The Design of Children's Situational Toy Based on Cognitive Development Theory
Children's situational toys play a vital role in their growth.Children playing with toys is a process of continuous maturity of perceptual thinking.Through the interaction with toys,children can obtain rich sensory ex-periences and promote the development of their cognitive ability.Based on cognitive development theory,this paper aims to explores the design of children's situational toys.Through the study of cognitive development theory,it puts forward the educational significance of children's situation-al toy design and the factors that affect children's choice of situational toys,including children's age development stage,children's interests and personality characteristics,toy's story and theme.Based on this,it designs a children's situational toy with users aged 7-11 years old based on tra-ditional Chinese culture,which integrates safety,age suit-ability,integrity,operability,challenge,interactivity and combination,in order to meet the preferences and needs of different children,and help toy design practitioners broad-en their design ideas.
