Inquiry learning is a child-centered teaching method,which emphasizes that children should build a knowledge system in practical operation and exploration.As a learning tool that integrates traditional culture and modern education concepts,the design of mortise and tenon toys follows the core concept of inquiry learning.Mortise and tenon toys can not only cultivate children's practical operation ability,deepen their understanding of traditional culture,but also cultivate children's innovative thinking and problem-solving ability,and improve their ar-tistic aesthetics and creativity.This paper discusses the sig-nificance and key principles of inquiry learning design of mortise and tenon toys,and analyzes the design practice of mortise and tenon toys based on inquiry learning,includ-ing modeling conception,functional design and process design.
