Research Review on Product Design Strategy for the Elderly from 2011 to 2021
At present,no researcher has systematically re-viewed the product design strategies for the elderly.There-fore,this paper conducted a systematic review of Chinese and English literatures published from 2011 to 2021,and finally 59 literatures(46 in Chinese and 13 in English)were included in the study.At the same time,the distribu-tion of the number of Chinese and English literatures,the distribution of research product types,the distribution of research perspectives,and the distribution of design strat-egies in these literatures are compared and analyzed.The results show that the number and inclusion rate of English literature are lower than those of Chinese literature,the types of research products are mainly furniture and medi-cal auxiliary products,the research perspective is mainly from the two directions of user characteristics and design theory for special groups,and the newly proposed design strategies are more in line with the needs,lifestyle and psy-chological characteristics of the elderly.The new strategy is helpful for designers and related practitioners to clarify the market demand and continuously improve the use ex-perience of products.At the same time,the results show that the continuous optimization and iterative strategy will become the core factor in the future market competition of elderly products.
