Under the background of the continuous deepen-ing of the"four new"construction,the animation major in colleges and universities is facing unprecedented develop-ment opportunities and challenges,and it is urgent to carry out professional reform,which is not only an inevitable requirement to adapt to the development of the"four new"construction,but also an important way to improve the education quality of animation major and a key measure to promote the transformation and upgrading of the ani-mation industry.This paper analyzes the basic concepts and connotations of the"four new"construction,and puts forward the practice strategies for the construction of ani-mation majors in colleges and universities in combination with the specific requirements of new technologies,new business formats,new modes and new industries,includ-ing strengthening the integration of new technologies into education and teaching,optimizing curriculum settings to adapt to new business formats,innovating teaching modes to adapt to new modes,and deepening industry-universi-ty-research cooperation to connect new industries,aiming to provide theoretical support for the improvement of teaching quality and students'practice ability of animation majors in colleges and universities.
