Through the text analysis of the Japanese tok-usatsu drama Ultraman series,this paper discusses the cultural connotation behind it,the innuendo of Japanese social culture,the cultural upsurge caused by it and the enlightenment to the development of Chinese tokusatsu drama.The research has found that the Ultraman series not only follows the spirit of humanism,but also reflects the Japanese national character and martial culture.At the same time,the popularity of Ultraman in China also pro-vides learnable experience for the development of domes-tic tokusatsu drama.
