Exploration on the Balance Strategy Between Resource Optimization and Player Experience in Game Design—Taking the Game Death Stranding as an Example
This paper takes the game Death Stranding as an example to discuss the balance strategy of resource optimi-zation and player experience in large-scale game projects.By analyzing the NPC system, enemy design and item sys-tem of the game,it is found that Death Stranding realizes the efficient utilization of resources by adopting innova-tive designs such as holographic NPC interaction, limited enemy type and environment fusion, and simplified item appearance. These strategies not only reduce development complexity and resource consumption, but also provide players with a unique and profound game experience. At the same time, the success of such simplified design strat-egies also depends on the support of other elements of the game, which requires the development team to maintain high standards in all aspects. It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide new ideas and practice reference for the balance between resource optimization and player experience in game design.
