A Survey of Filter Application in ICN Content Routing and Name Resolution
With the rapid development of the mobile Internet, the main needs of Internet users have changed from connecting for com-munication to information acquisition. To satisfy the needs of users for content, the Information Centric Networking came into being.Information-Centric Networking(ICN)prioritizes the content itself over its location by separating the names of network entities from their addresses.Instead,it utilizes names as unique content identifiers in network transmissions, thereby enhancing the efficiency of content delivery.Nevertheless, numerous challenges exist in locating the content that aligns with users'interests within the vast expanse of web content.Inefficient content search directly affects the quality of content service, and finding non-existent content means a waste of resources. Therefore, the Information Centric Network introduces filters,a probabilistic data structure,to improve the efficiency of content retrieval. In this paper,we introduce the application of several common filters in name resolution and content routing in Infor-mation Centric Networking, analyze the problems of various current schemes, and summarize the existing work.
