Comparative study on adsorbing Pb2+ with various zeolites
It is a highly effective and reusable method for removed of metal ions in water using zeolites as absorbents. Adsorption performances of ZSM -5 ,Y,and Beta three different zeolites on Pb2+ were comparatively studied. Effects of zeolite dosage,pH,adsorbing time,and initial Pb2+ concentration on the adsorbing ratio of Pb2+ were investigated,respectively. Results showed Beta zeolite performed the best under the same conditions. A 94.4% of Pb2+ adsorbing ratio was obtained at the conditions of 4 g/L of adsorbent dosage, 6 of pH.and 140 min of adsorbing time. The relatingships between the absorbing capacity and equilibrium mass concentration for the three zeolites were all in good accordance with the isothermal adsorption equations of Freundlich and Langmuir,respectively.
