Study on preparation of vaterite calcium carbonate microsphere and its transformational process in different solutions
At the room temperature (25 ℃C),vaterite calcium carbonate microspheres were prepared by rapidly mixing the CaCl2 and Na2CO3 aqueous solutions without other control agents.Effects of different concentration systems on the products were investigated and the transformational processes of the prepared calcium carbonate microspheres in different solutions were observed continuously for 12 h.The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM).Result indicated that the uniform and well-dispersed vaterite calcium carbonate microspheres were prepared when the concentration was 0.5 mol/L.The new products were unstable in mother liquors and quickly transformed to the calcite calcium carbonate rhombohedron, however, they were stable substantially in water and more stable in dehydrated ethanol.
