X-ray detection of lap girth weld between hexagonal outer casing and transition joint
Fuel assembly is an indispensable and important component in the reactor.The welding quality directly affects the service life of the component and the safe operation of the reactor.X-ray inspection is an effective approach to monitor the weld quality.According to the technical requirements of welding between outer casing and transition joint,the butt weld(argon arc welding)between outer casing and transition joint was selected as the research object.The relevant X-day digit-al imaging inspection method was established.Combined with visual appearance detection and metallographic internal struc-ture detection,the image features of non-defect factors such as fish scale,welding nodules,different penetration thickness and gaps in X-day digital imaging were analyzed.The imaging interference of fish scale,welding nodules,different pene-tration thickness and gaps was eliminated.Meanwhile,the characteristics of actual defects such as air holes,incomplete penetration and air bulking were analyzed.The accurate evaluation of girth weld between outer casing and transition joint was realized.
