By comparing and analyzing the new and old versions(2009 version and 2018 version)of the national standard GB/T 230.1 for Rockwell hardness test of metal materials,the main technical changes of the 2018 version of the national standard are obtained.Compared with the old version of the standard,the 2018 version of the national standard re described the test principle,modified the scope of application of the common Rockwell hardness scale,modified the holding time of the initial test force and the main test force,and refined the daily inspection procedures.The comparison and analysis be-tween the new and old versions of standards can help testers understand and apply the new version of the national standard for Rockwell hardness test,and improve the effectiveness of the test results.
