An Empirical Study on the Impact of Digital Technology on Logistics Trade Costs
This paper delves into the impact of digital technology on logistics trade costs at different stages of the manufacturing industry from the perspective of production process. The research findings reveal that the location of digital technology input in the manufacturing industry has an inverted U-shaped impact on logistics trade costs, with the input of digital technology in the midstream of the manufacturing industry being more conducive to cost reduction.Heterogeneity analysis demonstrates that as digital technology and infrastructure construction improve, the effect of digital technology input in the midstream of the manufacturing industry on reducing logistics trade costs becomes more pronounced.Additionally, compared to countries with lower logistics trade costs, the application of digital technology in the midstream of manufacturing production can lead to greater reductions in trade costs. These conclusions provide valuable insights for optimizing the digital transformation and development of the Chinese manufacturing industry.
