Traffic Equity-oriented Signal Timing Design of Plane Crossings
In order to solve the problem of signal timing of plane crossing from the perspective of traffic equity and avoid the result of timing biased to motor vehicles, firstly, this paper collected the geometric parameters of plane crossings and traffic flow data to obtain the crossing speed of the 15%pedestrian.Then,based on the double-loop phase structure, considering the constraints such as phase green time, pedestrian crossing and signal period,a multi-objective optimization model for signal timing of plane crossing was established with the aim of minimizing the difference of average delay between vehicles and pedestrians and the average delay of vehicles, and a genetic algorithm is designed for solution. Finally, various signal timing schemes were compared and analyzed. The results show that it is impossible to obtain reasonable signal timing results by aiming at minimum vehicle delay or total mean delay;when the weight of the difference between the average delay of motor vehicles and pedestrians is 0.3~0.9,two reasonable signal timing results can be obtained. Therefore, the traffic equity-oriented signal timing method for plane crossing takes into account fairness and efficiency. While treating each traffic participant fairly,it also effectively improves the traffic efficiency and quality at plane crossings, which is conducive to more equitable distribution of traffic resources and guiding the distribution of traffic resources to a rational direction.
